fonda was born from an archetypal image of what chairs represent for the designer. The handle on the backrest is its main feature: it invites its use and it can also be used as a bag/clothes hanger.
fonda is the third-person singular present of the verb fondare (to create, to erect). The meaning of the name is to introduce a product furniture design.

fondaはデザイナーがチェアとはどのような姿にあるべきかを考え、典 型的なチェアの形状に着想して生まれた椅子です。 背もたれのハンドルが最大の特徴になっており、取手としての役割のみ ならず鞄掛けやハンガーとしても使うことができます。
fondaは、イタリア語の動詞fondare(創造する、土台に据える)という意 味の三人称単数形です。
世界に向けて新しい意匠の道を切り開くという想いから名付けました。
